Help Wanted

Floresville ISD is accepting applications at www.fisd.us for the position of custodian, 260 days, 5 days per week, 8 hour workday.
Very part-time help needed to feed cats, chickens, and horses, Monday-Friday, 2 times per day, morning after dawn but before 9 a.m. for approx. 30-45 minutes and p.m. before dark (summer about 6-8 p.m., winter 4-5 p.m.) for approx. 60-90 minutes. Suitable for someone who lives near location, which is exactly halfway between New Berlin and La Vernia. No smoking and requires working in all weather conditions. Long term job, it will not replace income, it will supplement. 830-372-5762.

Floresville Methodist adds new service

Floresville United Methodist Church located at 1205 B Street is happy to announce it has added a new worship service to its Sunday schedule!

Effective Aug. 17, members and guests can enjoy free coffee and great music at a new contemporary praise service in the fellowship hall at 9:45 a.m., adding to the existing 8:30 a.m. informal worship service, and the 11 a.m. traditional worship service, both held in the sanctuary.

Sunday School classes are available for all ages. Day care is also available.

Additionally, on Sunday, Aug. 24, the bell choir will play during the 11 a.m. service, and the Rev. Peter Aguilar will prepare students for the new school year with a “Blessing of the Backpacks” at all three services. Any student of any age is welcome to receive this blessing.
