‘Meet the Bears’ Aug. 23

LA VERNIA -- The La Vernia Independent School District is planning a Meet the Bears event this Saturday, Aug. 23, beginning at 10 a.m. in Bear Stadium.

The event will introduce the students, athletes, and coaches who will participate in a variety of activities this fall, including the high school football teams, the Lady Bear volleyball teams, the cross-country, tennis, and golf teams, the athletic trainers, cheerleaders, members of the Mighty Bear Band, the color guard, and the HoneyBear dancers.

The event is free and the entire community is invited to “Meet the Bears.” There will be performances by the Mighty Bear Band, the high school cheerleaders, and the HoneyBear Dance Team.
