FLORESVILLE -- Crowning the champions by way of a playoff has become the norm for the annual Kosciusko Open golf tournament. Things were no different this year, as teams played seven additional holes before eventually determining a winner at the River Bend Golf Club Aug. 9.

In the end, the tournament championship went to Aaron Pape, Curtis Swize, Herb Adams, and Kevin Moczygemba. The team of S.V. Pruski, Brandon Scheffler, Troy Finch, and Louie Jonietz finished second; and the team of Matt Mozcygemba, Blake Janicek, Justin Jaks, and David Houseton finished third.

Don Beck had the longest drive of the tournament, and the closest-to-the-pin winners were Ken Wiatrek, Mark Wiatrek, Dirk Ellyson, and Houseton.

Attendance was down slightly this year, as 48 players turned out for the annual event. The Kosciusko Open is held each year to benefit the Kosciusko Athletic Association.
