Mark and Joyce Emily enjoy the elevated wrap-around porch of their recycled home, from which they enjoy watching wildlife, such as deer and turkey. Their entire home, except for some windows and a few items, is entirely made of recycled, reused, or repurposed materials.

Joyce Emily, the technology assistant and webmaster for the La Vernia Independent School District, was in several productions with Wilson County News correspondent Pascalle Bippert. She often mentioned the remarkable story of her “new” home. When an opportunity came to visit and see the remarkable results of the Emilys’ efforts, Pascalle jumped at the chance. . . .
