I was born and raised in San Antonio. As a matter of fact, I was born in bed, with one brother on one side and one on another. My mother had been in the hospital, but was allowed to leave as my daddy had a leave from the U.S. Navy. She was supposed to have gone back, but Mother being Mother, did not.  . . .
