Flash flood watch

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch Monday, March 9, until 7 p.m. for the follow-ing counties: Atascosa, Bexar, DeWitt, Gonzales, Guadalupe, Karnes, and Wilson.

The watch is due to locally heavy rounds of showers and isolated thun-derstorms across South-Central Texas this afternoon through early Monday evening.

Widespread 2-4 inches of rainfall is expected with isolated pockets up to 6 inches. Rapid runoff from these heavy rains could result in flash flooding of creeks and streams, low-water crossings, and urban areas normally subject to flooding, as well as a threat to life and property.

A flash flood watch means flash flooding is possible in or near the watch area.
