The Wilson County News' Facebook page is abuzz with residents in northwestern Wilson County who are reporting the sound of an explosion, which occurred just before 3:30 p.m. March 12.

Floresville resident Jim Helmke said he contacted the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in Washington D.C., which reported that there was no record of a seismic event in Wilson County. However, residents who might have felt something are urged to report it to the USGS at:

RRE, if you look at the newspaper's Facebook page, you'll see that people who heard and felt the boom were spread across a wide area. So that would have to be a lot of Tannerite -- enough to kill someone or cause significant... More ›

The noise was the tops of heads blowing off of the three citizens left that can't believe the CC is considering Danny's party plans - he won't be satisfied until the Event Center has his name!

It was the sonic boom off a fighter plane. I saw the fighter plane and then I heard the boom. He was flying low that is why it shook houses. Sometimes they can blow out your windows.
