*Update...La Vernia Bluebonnet Fest canceled, parade still on
The La Vernia Lions Club has canceled all Bluebonnet Fest activities scheduled at the City Park this weekend and has rescheduled the festival and parade to June 13! According to La Vernia Lion Steve Mays, "It looks like we will be moving the Bluebonnet Fest and the Parade to June 13th. The city park is available that day and the city police have verified that moving the parade to that day would be OK as well." Plan now to attend the festivities and start your summer in style!

Roping event rescheduled to May 17
The 10th annual Buck Taylor South Central Texas Independent Cattlemen’s Association (SCTICA) Benefit Team Ropin’ has been rescheduled for a second time for Sunday, May 17, at the Guadalupe County Fair Grounds, located at 728 Midway in Seguin. The event will feature No. 7, 9, and 11 ropings. Books open at 10 a.m., with roping to begin at 11 a.m. For more information, contact Jaime at 830-391-2331, Glenn at 210-260-0563, or Windy at 210-215-1139.

The South TX Pregnancy Center's Walk for Life in the La Vernia City Park this Sunday, May 17, has been canceled, due to the condition of the park after the recent heavy rains, and the potential for more wet weather.
