Officials remain at the scene of a crash on U.S. 181 near Bentwood Drive north of Floresville, which involved a tractor-trailer and a heavy-duty wrecker. The accident, in which no one was injured, occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m., officials said.

According to Trooper Joseph Lerma of the Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol, the tow truck was stopped on the left-hand shoulder of the southbound lanes. Its driver was not in the truck, as he was tending to a disabled truck that was stuck in the highway’s grass median. Witnesses stated that the truck’s emergency lights were active when it was struck by the tractor-trailer, Lerma said.

Southbound traffic on U.S. 181 is slow from Shannon Ridge Drive through the crash scene, as Wilson County Sheriff’s Office deputies direct vehicles via a single lane. Northbound traffic is unaffected.

We saw the truck in the median on our way back from San Antonio. Glad no one was hurt.
