Josh Wise announced via Twitter on Monday that he had parted ways with the Premium Motorsports No. 98 Ford team of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team.

“I have parted ways with Premium Motorsports. The team and I did not share the same goals moving forward.” -- Wise (@Josh_Wise)

Wise’s No. 98 team started the season as a Phil Parsons Racing entry, but Phil Parsons sold the team to Jay Robinson of Premium Motorsports last month, expanding that team to a two-car operation, joining the No. 62 Chevrolet.

Wise follows Brendan Gaughan, former driver of the No. 62, out the Premium Motorsports door. Gaughan’s departure from the No. 62 became public on Saturday at Kentucky Speedway. The No. 62 failed to make eight of the first 17 races on the Sprint Cup schedule prior to Saturday night’s race at Kentucky.

Reed Sorenson drove the No. 62 in the Quaker State 400 at Kentucky Saturday night.

Gaughan wasn’t collecting championship in Sprint Cup competition. His primary gig this year is driver of the No. 62 Richard Childress Racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

Premium Motorsports is new to the Sprint Cup Series garage in 2015. It was started with assets purchased from Tommy Baldwin Racing’s No. 36 team. As a one-car operation to start the season, the team car underwent a number change from No. 36 to No. 62.
