Compared to last week: Hay prices were mostly unchanged this week. Trade activity was slow on light to moderate demand. Alfalfa prices continue to have a wide price spread since the premium to supreme quality is more difficult to find and freight becomes a large factor in the price. The fair and rained on quality can be found in abundance driving those prices down. Coastal Bermuda producers in East and South Texas report that it has remained dry and high quality small bales may be hard to find this year which in result is keeping those prices steady. Large bales of coastal Bermuda can be found with a variety of quality as well depending on the time of cutting. Livestock are in good condition across the state and supplemental feeding is at a standstill this time of year. Prices for hay and pellets quoted per ton except where noted. . . .
