Sharon Nehring, also known as Sharon Jacoby, 57, of Freestone County, Texas, surrendered to authorities Aug. 11, and was charged with felony theft of livestock.

Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association Special Ranger Jimmy Dickson and authorities searched for Nehring for several months after an investigation revealed Nehring had purchased thousands of dollars worth of lambs and goats with a worthless check from the Freestone County Fair in June of 2014.

As reported in the Aug. 12 Wilson County News, a Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association Operation Cow Thief award was being offered.

After many calls to the cattle raisers, Nehring surrendered to authorities and was arrested on a $5,000 bond.
