Compared to last week: Hay prices were steady to firm. Trade activity remained slow on light to moderate demand. Dairies have really slowed down buying hay as milk prices have decreased. There continues to be a wide price spread in Alfalfa prices due to quality and freight. North, East, and South Texas remain dry as Coastal Bermuda producers are in need of rain in order to have another cutting. Producers have kept prices steady for now but talks of raising prices if they do not get rain soon. The small bales for horses are the hot commodity and have prices tightening. Livestock are in good condition with no supplemental feeding. Prices for hay and pellets quoted per ton except where noted. . . .
