Hillary Clinton can’t decide if she’s the smartest woman in the world -- or the dumbest.

In answering questions at a recent press conference, the former First Lady diligently explained her methodical cleaning of “personal” emails from the server in question. Mind you, we are talking, presumably, about a government-secured server containing emails while she was Secretary of State.

But Hillary’s email mess is another story. She says that “all this data stuff" is just complicated. She responded flippantly when questioned about whether she “wiped clean” the secured server: “You mean, like, did I wipe the server clean with a cloth -- or something?”

She thought she was being cute, but this is serious. It’s not like she is being quizzed by those mean old right-wing Republicans. This is the FBI investigating, for heavens sake.

Waiting in the wings, meanwhile, is good ole Joe Biden, while Bernie Sanders and Martin O’Malley swing away at their campaigns.

On the other side, “The Donald,” is still in the lead, and making some establishment politicians pretty nervous. They probably thought that by this time, Donald Trump would have gotten bored, and gone on his way.

But Trump is enjoying it!

And Americans are enjoying watching him upset the political establishment.

While there still are plenty who do not take his candidacy seriously, I say, “Why not?”

It’s too soon to endorse any candidate, of course. As the campaign continues, however, it’s interesting to assess the progress as some candidates jump ahead and others fall behind. It’s particularly gratifying to see some of the establishment candidates struggle, and some of the unknowns move up.

Trump has not shied away from tough questions. He doesn’t deny that his views have changed, much like those of Ronald Reagan did. To his credit, Trump does not try to portray himself as a holier-than-thou Christian.

To those who say that Trump is “not Republican enough,” just look at who is in Congress. John Boehner and Mitch McConnell, just to name two. What qualifies them as Republicans?

Dr. Ben Carson is coming on strong with his mild-mannered and straight-forward answers. People who are getting to know him are liking what they see.

Right now there are 17, and soon to be fewer, Republican candidates. As Carson, Ted Cruz, Carly Fiorina, Bobby Jindal, Marco Rubio, and some think perhaps John Kasich show their stuff, the RINOs, including the “chosen ones”, are struggling to get any traction.

Whomever we get from this slate should be an improvement over the one we have now.

Our current president makes the news, not by making decisions, but by playing golf with the elites and taking lavish vacations with his family.

We need a change.
