Coaches take: Dodd takes over the team this year and is making some changes he hopes will put the Tigers and Jaguars on top. His philosophy is that “when champions work hard, history is made.” Dodd is hoping a great attitude and work ethic, along with a competitive non-district schedule, will put his team in position to challenge for the district title. Things won’t be easy for Floresville, though, as district opponents Boerne Champion and Alamo Heights are two of the top three teams in the state. The boys return a lot of experience, though, and the girls have some experience at the top of their depth chart. Dodd said several players have seen postseason action, and are hungry for a return trip to the playoffs. His goal is to have his team in the playoffs, and to send several players to the regional tournament in the spring. He wants to motivate his team and the community to help build a quality tennis program in Floresville for the schools and the public in general.  . . .
