"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free." These words were placed on the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty in 1883. Since then millions have arrived with the hope of starting a new life in this Land of Opportunity. But, today, too many are seizing opportunities at the cost of the very values that reached out to them. Too many are using our Freedom to exploit the Rights afforded at the threat of undermining the whole.

In this UNITED States of America, "WE, The People..." must not become so calloused by indifference, or caught up in our diverse ethnic backgrounds, that we fail to insist maintaining the very established Principles of The UNITED States of America. ALL are welcomed only as long as each assimilates into these UNITED States and unites to insure its continuation that so many paid to accomplish.

This USA was founded upon fundamental principles which are the very reason each are welcomed. Any attempt by those who immigrate or are Citizen-born to dilute these Principles and this same USA who welcomed you, MUST make you leave. This is not an option but a requirement to maintain its health as surely as any virus must be removed and nullified that threatens the health of any human body, computer or organization.

The very basic etiquette of any guest to its host, as well as every grateful member of a family, is expected to join together in showing respect. To do otherwise is the most basic of insults realized by any culture, religion or ethnicity. To be invited, to be treated with all the benefits of one's host but with an agenda to dismantle, rearrange or overthrow is to be subversive. Therefore, it is not beyond reason to expect everyone who is birthed or invited, to join together as one voice in respect saying, 'God Bless The United States of America'.

If you cannot, then the most noble thing you can do is leave peaceably before you wear out your welcome and are asked to leave by "WE, The People..." (hrg)

Our military veterans are left to languish in poverty. They cannot get medical attention, but we will provide all of this to 80,000 Syrian immigrants?

New Guy, Not sure what part of this brought up the President. I personally hold the Office of USA President very highly. It is unfortunate that our current President fails to uphold it as most USA Ctizens have demanded in... More ›

New Guy, I don't see any disrespect for the office of president in this column? Did I miss something?

Bunch of hypocrites, basic etiquette dictates that whether you respect the person residing in the Office of the President, you still need to respect the office itself and if you don't, you are also welcome to leave.

It's time we distinguish between refugees seeking asylum and immigrants who are seeking resettlement in another country.
