(Revised at 4:02 pm) Though the Wilson County Appraisal District office sustained substantial damage Oct. 30 as a tornado turned the Lazy J Bar-B-Q next door to rubble, area residents still can pay their taxes and get their early-payment discounts, said Chief Appraiser Jennifer Coldewey.

Taxpayers can visit the Wilson County Tax Assessor-Collector’s office at 2 Library Lane in downtown Floresville Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., where appraisal district staff will be available to take payments.

The appraisal district office is closed until further notice, and phone service is unavailable at this time. Visit the tax office downtown to leave a message for staff, who will return calls.

Great picture of the damages, oh, no picture? WCN is meeting expectations of a small town paper.
