(Revised 4:33 p.m., Nov. 3)

The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the driver killed this morning in a multi-vehicle crash Nov. 3 that involved a school bus on Loop 1604 north of U.S. 87 near St. Hedwig.

Jorge Alfredo Cazares Laureano, 47, of Floresville was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said. According to Rosanne Hughes, a spokesman for the Bexar County Sheriff's Office, witnesses reported that Laureano's Honda passenger car was struck head on by a Toyota passenger car, which had clipped an East Central Independent school bus on Loop 1604. Both cars were then struck by two trucks.

The teenage boy driving the Toyota was transported in critical condition to the San Antonio Military Medical Center. None of the drivers of the trucks or bus occupants were injured.

One driver is dead and another in critical condition after a multi-vehicle crash in the early morning hours today involving a school bus on Loop 1604 north of U.S. 87 near St. Hedwig.

According to Rosanne Hughes, a spokesman for the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, witnesses say they saw a Toyota passenger car being driven southbound Nov. 3 on Loop 1604. They reported that the car was swerving back and forth before it clipped an East Central Independent School District bus, then the Toyota crashed head-on into a Honda passenger car. Both vehicles then were struck by two trucks, Hughes said.

The driver of the Honda died at the scene, while the teenage boy driving the Toyota was transported in critical condition to the San Antonio Military Medical Center. None of the drivers of the trucks or bus occupants were injured.

An investigator from the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office was on the scene as of 10:20 a.m., so the identity of the deceased was not made public as of that time.
