The Nixon-Smiley Livestock Barn arena was a riot of rowdy fun Oct. 17 for fans of ranch rodeo. Nixon-Smiley organizers added their own version of South Texas football on horseback, with a live “pigskin” -- a live feral hog! After several rounds, the South Texas Cattle Marketing team won the overall event. Dillon Morrow of Cuero was named Top Hand, winning a saddle. . . .
