Floresville and Wilson County property owners or renters who suffered property damage or loss from the Oct. 30 tornado can apply for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) disaster aid.

As a result of the tornado and severe weather, storm damage, and flooding across Texas Oct. 22-31, Gov. Greg Abbott declared a state of disaster Nov. 20 in 15 Texas counties, including Wilson County; President Barack Obama followed suit Nov. 25. This makes federal individual assistance available to eligible families, individuals, renters, and business owners in Wilson County.

The FEMA Disaster Service Assistance Team is taking applications at Floresville City Hall Wednesday, Dec. 2, from 2-5 p.m., and Thursday, Dec. 3, through Friday, Dec. 11 (weekdays only), from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Applications may be made:

•In person at City Hall

•By calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362)

•Online at DisasterAssitance.gov.

Floresville City Hall is located at 1120 D St. in downtown Floresville.

Unless you were financially responsible and have insurance. Then they wont help even if there's a gap in what they will cover and what it costs. Yep, lets screw the middle class.

Well I nailed that! While everyone was bemoaning the damage, I knew there was an opportunity for federal funds. Collect from the feds! I appreciate prayers and thank you cards for paying for it. I'm not holding my breath.
