For Velma Ramirez, 2015 will be remembered as the year when the La Vernia High School graduate competed in the 11th annual Women’s Ranch Rodeo Association World Finals Oct. 16-17 in Loveland, Colo. Known for her skill in the South Texas Ranch Rodeo circuit since 2012, Velma had the chance of a lifetime when one of the original Rodeo Ready team members was unable to compete and Velma stepped up to fill in. When the dust settled, the Rodeo Ready team finished eighth! . . .
