FAIRVIEW -- Sheriff’s deputies in three counties are combing the area west of here for two men suspected of a daytime burglary Dec. 29 in the 13,000 block of F.M. 536, which is located near the Atascosa-Wilson county line.

Wilson County Sheriff Joe D. Tackitt Jr. said deputies continue to search for a black sport-utility vehicle with a busted rear window and a tarp over one of the passenger windows, with license-plate number GJP-162. The vehicle was occupied by two Hispanic males, who were dressed in black, and it last was seen headed west on F.M. 536 toward I-37, he said.

Tackitt said at approximately 2:10 p.m., the homeowners arrived to find the burglars at the residence. The men, while attempting to flee, ran over one of the residents. The victim, as of 2:55 p.m., had been flown from the scene via AirLife helicopter.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office at 830-393-2535.

Anonymous tips -- which qualify for cash rewards if the information leads to an arrest or to the recovery of stolen property -- can be furnished to Wilson County Crime Stoppers at 830-393-INFO (4636).
