South Texas group welcomes lift on oil-export ban

“STEER and its members are pleased with the outcome of [the Dec. 18] vote and applaud the efforts of the U.S. Congress to lift the ban on oil exports,” said Haley Curry, vice president of external affairs for South Texas Energy & Economic Roundtable (STEER). “This ban, although needed at the time, is antiquated now that technology and innovation has changed our energy future. Allowing U.S. oil production to be competitively priced creates balance to compete on the global market. . . .
