The Wilson County News will present a “Candidates’ Forum” in advance of the March 1 primary election. This will be published Wednesday, Feb. 17.

Candidates in contested local races -- up to district attorney -- are invited to submit an individualized 200-word message to voters. Entries will be subject to editing, as needed, for length, basic grammar, spelling, good taste, and libel. Suggested items to address:

•Your personal, professional, and political background

•Why you are running for this office

•What you wish to accomplish or problems you hope to address if elected.

The deadline for submissions is 5 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 10; earlier is preferred.

Email submissions to nkilbey-smith@wcn-online.com. Submissions also may be delivered to our office, or sent by fax or postal mail. Each submission must be accompanied by the candidate’s signature.

A photograph may accompany each submission. Candidates may send a recent, publication-quality photograph, or stop by the newspaper’s office to have a photo taken by one of our staff.

For more information, call Editor Nannette Kilbey-Smith at 830-216-4519.
