The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Highway Patrol continues its investigation of a two-vehicle crash southeast of New Berlin that claimed the life of a La Vernia man.

DPS spokesman Trooper Deon Cockrell identified the deceased as 29-year-old Brian Fugate. The name of the other driver -- who was flown to the San Antonio Military Medical Center -- has not been released.

Cockrell said Fugate was the driver of one of two pickup trucks that collided at approximately 5:30 a.m. on F.M. 467 near its intersection with F.M. 539.

Just wondering why the actual story of what happened and who the other driver was? (The For More read the Feb. 24 edition of the WCN....totally did not pan out.) Should I send out my own news crew?
