Elected in 1992, I am honored to serve Wilson County as your sheriff. We have experienced many changes over the past 24 years and continue to respond to the growing needs in the county. My department has 21 patrol officers -- five per shift, covering the county 24/7 -- serving and protecting the people. I work closely with commissioners court developing the sheriff’s budget and the criminal justice facility budget, maintaining both within the constraints of county funds. My jail contracts with the U.S. Marshal Service, housing inmates to offset operation costs. My department assists local and state police agencies on a constant basis in order to keep the county a safer place for all residents. . . .
