Paula Renken, who since January has served as the interim superintendent of the Poth Independent School District (ISD), will be taking the reins in a more permanent capacity. The district’s board of trustees, at the conclusion of a Feb. 17 special meeting, named her as the lone finalist in its superintendent search.
Prior to coming to Poth, Renken worked for eight years as a field representative for the San Antonio-based Education Service Center, Region 20. She previously was the superintendent of the Brackett ISD.
Following the state-mandated 21-day waiting period, trustees in Poth will meet to formally hire Renken.
