The cash and the computer motherboard of a video-slot machine — commonly known as an 'eight-liner' — in the Lucky Spin Game Room on U.S. 181 near Sutherland Springs Road in Floresville will be taken as evidence by law-enforcement agencies, as part of an ongoing investigation into game rooms in Wilson County. Search warrants were served Feb. 20 at five such facilities.

Personnel from multiple agencies including the Wilson County Sheriff's Office, the Floresville Police Department, and the 81st Judicial District Attorney's Office continue to investigate and catalog evidence after simultaneous search warrants were served at approximately 9 p.m. Feb. 20, at five game rooms along the U.S. 181 corridor.

Warrants were served at:
Diamond Gameroom, U.S. 181 and South Carroll Street, Poth
- Casa Solano convenience store, Standish Street, Floresville
- EZ Game Room, U.S. 181, Floresville
- Lucky Spin Game Room, U.S. 181 near Sutherland Springs Road, Floresville
- Star GameRoom, U.S. 181 near C.R. 320, Floresville.

At each location, officials said motherboards from each of the video slots machines -- known as "eight liners" -- were confiscated, along with automatic teller machines and cash. Workers at each site also were arrested.

They didn't even notify the Poth Police Chief Lowell Hull when they went to Poth, even though he had asked the sheriff about it weeks ago? Could it be politics at play again?

What's on my mind? The city citizens been fighting with the city and asking the city official not to allow these game rooms in the city limits. Thank God the Sheriff's office and FPD are on the ball. Gambling is not legal in... More ›
