Police in Kenedy believe that they have captured the man responsible for an attempted armed robbery that occurred Feb. 23 at approximately 6 p.m., at the Super 8 motel on U.S. 181 near S.H. 97 West in Floresville.

According to Chief Duane Dubose, David Casarez of Kenedy was arrested Feb. 24, after police executed a warrant at his residence, in relation to another attempted robbery that happened Feb. 23 in Kenedy. Officials believe Casarez is responsible for both incidents. He is being held in the Karnes County Jail, charged with attempted aggravated robbery and faces a charge of aggravated robbery for the incident in Floresville.

Police in Floresville have released a surveillance video of an attempted armed robbery that occurred Feb. 23 at approximately 6 p.m., at the Super 8 motel on U.S. 181 near S.H. 97 West in Floresville.

Police in Floresville are searching for a man who reportedly attempted an armed robbery Feb. 23 at the Super 8 motel on U.S. 181 near S.H. 97 West. The incident occurred just before 6:15 p.m.

Sgt. Daria Fowler of the Floresville Police Department said the suspect is described as a slender Hispanic male with a goatee, standing approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall. He was wearing sunglasses, brown coveralls, and a hat.

The man -- who had a handgun -- last was seen leaving the property in an unknown direction. He was driving a dark green or black Pontiac G6, with clear taillight covers possible temporary license plates.

Anyone with information is urged to submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers of Wilson County at 830-393-INFO (4636).
