A suspected burglar is dead, after apparently being shot by the owner of the Sell It On eBay store in downtown Floresville early this morning.

According to Chief Lorenzo Herrera of the Floresville Police Department, police were called at approximately 7 a.m. about a possible break in. According to the property owner, Kevin Vest, the suspect gained entry and a scuffle ensued, and Vest fired shots. Officers confirmed the alleged suspect is dead. His identity is not being released, pending notification of his next of kin, Herrera said.

Texas Rangers have been called to assist in the investigation and are on the scene.

Vest had previously called police Thursday for burglary of a habitation.

UPDATE (12:28 pm): The suspect has been identified as Roberto Sauceda of Floresville.
