Friday, March 25

Compared to last report: alfalfa and coastal Bermuda traded $10-$15 lower as many producers are trying to make room for new crop. Movement was slow to moderate. Warmer temperatures and high winds made for hazardous conditions in the Panhandle since the area has not had any moisture lately. Winds in North and East Texas helped dry out the wet areas so coastal Bermuda producers can get in their fields hopefully in the next few weeks to start on the new crop. New crop prices have still not been established yet but more talk of prices, some believe we are going to be dry which will keep prices firm while others think there will be plenty of hay available and will drive prices lower. Only time and mother nature will tell once prices start to be established. Prices for hay and pellets quoted per ton except where noted.  . . .
