The Wilson County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate a case involving a burning body discovered south of Poth.

Sheriff’s deputies said a man called 911 after finding a body burning near C.R. 202 a mile east of U.S. 181 around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday and put out the fire with the help of relatives.

The body was taken to the Bexar County medical examiner’s office, where it is scheduled for an autopsy Friday, May 13.

Sheriff Joe D. Tackitt Jr. told the Wilson County News he would release further information about the body and the investigation following the autopsy.
