Compared to last report: All hay classes traded steady on very slow movement. There are many varieties of hay on the market this time of year particularly wheat hay. New crop prices of wheat hay are a lot lower than previous prices due to the abundance available and alfalfa prices to compete with as well. Weather in the Panhandle was cooler but with much needed showers around that benefited local pastures. Coastal Bermuda producers in North and East Texas were dodging rain to get into the fields to cut which may keep prices firm on top quality hay. South Texas Coastal Bermuda producers report plenty of large bales will be available as they have been in able to get in their fields to bale. Prices for hay and pellets quoted per ton except where noted.  . . .
