We've all met people who have a stubborn streak that just sabotages their life and happiness. Something down inside their being taunts them and eggs them on into self defeat. Maybe it's needing to prove they are right at all costs and they won't shut up. The result is they've made a fool of themselves. The sad thing is, they can't see it. They are forever stuck in a repeating cycle of failures of one kind or another.

I heard a story long ago about one guy who had this "I ain't wrong" mentality. He worked at a fabrication shop. One of the wielders had just fabricated a small metal object and this guy wanted to examine it. He picked it up and immediately dropped it. The wielder remarked, "Hot isn't it?" The guy responded, "Nah, just don't take me long to look at things."

Of course, nobody likes to have to admit they're wrong but it is insane to keep heading in a wrong direction because you're too stubborn to admit it. Wisdom states to search patiently to find that shard of glass rather than defiantly walk barefoot & get wounded. Yet, we here in America are stomping all over the place. By all appearances, we're headed in a hellbent direction while stepping in all kinds of messes with everybody being offended but nobody will take an honest look at what's wrong. It is being a Nation who the majority claims we believe in God and insane as it sounds, profanely use God's Name and thinking He's not going to respond about it!

Too often good people fail to do good things, the right and honorable things, and become part of something bad by inaction. This has happened in America but I honestly believe we can turn it around.

I invite you to join me in a personal evaluation-THINK how we limit faith, frustrate God's grace, waste prayers & blur the image of basic Christianity. That is, if you aren't too stubborn. (hrg)
