The recent shooting of police officers in Dallas Texas, occurred at a peaceful Black Lives Matter protest where folks were chanting “Hands up don’t shoot”. This “movement” was created by a false narrative. The true facts concerning the incident discovered a black man attacked a police officer, grabbed his gun, and was shot. Those are the facts as discovered by the Department of Justice. This chant has been heard over and over again as unfortunately, more people of color have been shot by police officers. This protest in Dallas was one of several around the country spurred by two recent shootings of black men, one in Minnesota, and one in Louisiana. A reasonable person could ask themselves, just what is going on with police officers and black men?

President Obama, hours before the incident in Dallas, regurgitated some purported facts from some “studies” that allegedly showed that men of color were at a statistically higher rate stopped by police, arrested by police, and shot by police, than white men. What the President failed to mention is that according to FBI statistics in 2013, black men while being only 13 % of the population, commit 52 % of murders, and 38.5 % of the rapes, robberies and assaults in this country. He also failed to offer an explanation for the daily slaughter in Chicago where black on black crime is at epic levels, and where coincidentally, gun control laws are some of the most stringent.

If black lives matter, shouldn’t something be done to correct these alarming statistics? If you look at cities where liberal Democratic policies are in place, Baltimore, Chicago, St Louis, to name a few, crime is skyrocketing in the black community. Look at this country the last 7 years, under a liberal Democratic presidency, with a weak Republican opposition, the racial divide has gotten wider, respect for the law has lessened, and the rhetoric from the White House has gotten more divisive than coalescent.

If black lives matter, you must go to the root of the problem. The facts are that liberal democratic policies have damaged the black community for the last 50 years. Liberals have kept blacks in crime ridden neighborhoods, poor performing schools, and continue to use the bigotry of low expectations to further their political power. The definition of crazy as we well know is to do the same thing over and over and expect different results. Democrats by their actions insult the intelligence of blacks and minorities as a whole, by placing blame on others for their community’s failings. Democratic policies are roadblocks to self-empowerment both socially and economically. Look at black unemployment today, the numbers are staggering. The black community has been enslaved by the Democratic Party via the soft shackles of a victimization ideology, all in an attempt to maintain a political power base.

To bring the past into the future is to guarantee you can never change the future. Admittedly our past is full of atrocities that were committed against people of color. Discrimination is part of our past. The history of the world is full of examples of humankind taking advantage of the less fortunate. In society there will always be a segment of the population that is prejudiced against some group of people, but that is the few. The majority of Americans judge people by their actions, not the color of their skin. We elected a black President, twice, and I don’t remember seeing any rioting in the streets. To continue to stoke the fires of division benefits those who wish to remain in power.

If black lives matter then a fundamental political change must occur, and there are some signs it may be happening. Black conservative voices are growing. Blacks who traditionally vote Democrat are starting to question their loyalty to a political party who only offers more of the same. Conservatives need to speak to these issues. Conservatives need to reach out, need to remind folks Republicans were the party of Lincoln and Democrats were against the Civil Rights Acts of Johnson. For too long the narrative has been conservatives are racist defined by their politics and policies, which is patently false. True conservatives believe in self-empowerment, keeping more of what you earn, allowing your child to attend the best performing school, and putting bad guys in jail, and keeping them away from influencing the young children of today. Conservatives believe in self-determination, in offering a hand up, but not a hand out. Allowing people to be truly masters of their manifest destiny and the inalienable right of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, with as little government intervention as possible.

If black lives truly matter, this is the message that must get to those black communities that are inundated with despair and desperation, and where hope is just another four letter word.
