"Storm Expenses" were from the flooding damaging the roads. CR 117 was a good example. The flooding completely ripped out a good 300 ft section of the asphalt. There were other roads around Poth and Stockdale too... More ›

I don't understand the "storm expenses" mentioned. In the city, the city paid for the disposal of all the trees and branches. But in the county, no trucks came by and cleaned up my mess. I had to chop and burn... More ›

I think COLA(Cost OF Living Adjustment) are pretty typical of any government entity. The Longevity bonus' are equivalent to the private sectors Christmas Bonus' since they are given around Thanksgiving.

You add up all the weather related repairs plus the massive EagleFord downturn and you have a shortfall that i don't really think can be blamed on them. Now its just a matter of preparing for next year and cutting back where they can.

But expecting a raise every year is not normal in the business community because businesses can't raise prices to support raises the way the county can raise taxes for THEIR raises. Think about it, elected officials.

Wilson county news did us a favor last year I believe by publishing commissioners salaries and related expenses, maybe time to revisit ?
