According to the Nixon Police Department, Jarred Woodward, 37, of Pawnee has been arrested in connection with an Aug. 1 armed robbery at Reliable Finance in Nixon.

A security video of the incident released by the department resulted in a tip to the Gonzales County Crime Stoppers. This led to Woodward’s arrest near his residence in Karnes County. He was charged with aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony.

According to the Nixon Police Department, Woodward was named as a person of interest in at least three other recent armed robberies in surrounding counties, including home invasion.

Nixon police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man suspected of robbing the Reliable Finance Co. at gunpoint.

On Aug. 1, a white male, 5 feet, 7 inches to 5 feet, 11 inches tall, 190-205 pounds, in his 30s to early 40s with short dark hair, entered the Reliable Finance Co. on Third Street with a gun, demanding cash. He also advised the victim that he was from Kenedy. The subject fled the scene in a brown- or tan-colored 2003-04 Ford F-150 pickup truck.

Police are asking anyone with information about the crime, including any agencies with a similar modus, to contact the Greater Gonzales County Crime Stoppers at 830-672-TIPS.
