Friday, Sept. 2
Compared to last report: Hay prices were mostly steady to instances weak on little to no movement. Rainfall across the state has slowed movement to a standstill as getting trucks in and out was very difficult. Feedyards and dairies were feeding rations already in stock in hopes of prices coming down due to ample hay availability. A few sales of coastal Bermuda fed to horses and calves on feedyards with a wide price range due to freight. Producers in East and North Texas are hoping for one more cutting if their fields dry out enough to bale. Prices for hay and pellets quoted per ton except where noted. . . .
