(SAN ANTONIO) -- The San Antonio River Authority (SARA) will host the Environmental Advisory Committee public meeting on Friday, September 23, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Connally Memorial Medical Center Hospital Conference Room, located at 499 10th Street, Floresville, TX 78114. SARA encourages active citizen participation in support of the Texas Clean Rivers Program (CRP).

The meeting agenda presentation topics includes:
· USGS Lower San Antonio River Basin Groundwater and Surface Water Interaction Study
· USGS Assessing the San Antonio River Basin for Produced Water Constituents from Oil and Gas Production Activities- Phase II
· Clean Rivers Program Update
· San Antonio River Watershed Model
· Instream Flows Project
· Watershed Wise Rebate & Watershed Wise Grant Update
· Open discussion

The Texas Clean Rivers Act established a way for citizens of Texas to participate in building the foundation for effective statewide watershed planning activities. Each CRP partner agency has established a steering committee to set priorities within its basin. These committees bring together the diverse interests in each basin and watershed. Steering committee participants include representatives from the environment, academia, business & industry, bay & estuary, agriculture, and recreational groups.

For more information, contact Clarissa Perez, Community Relations Coordinator, at or (210) 302.3623.
The San Antonio River Authority (SARA) was created by the 45th Texas Legislature on May 5, 1937 and reorganized in 1961 to plan, manage and implement water-related programs and projects within the San Antonio River Watershed. The State of Texas empowered SARA to preserve, protect and manage the resources and the ecology of the San Antonio River and its tributaries. To learn more about the SARA visit our website at
