Offer condolences


Adela Silva Estrada passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2016, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 85 years, 1 month, and 26 days. She was born on July 4, 1931, in Floresville to Nicanor and Josephine Cardenas Estrada.

Adela was a lifelong resident of Floresville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Rudy C. Estrada Sr.; son Rosendo Estrada; and numerous brothers and sisters.

Adela is survived by her children, Lina Rocha and husband Sam of San Antonio, Lydia Morales and husband John of Macdona, Rudy Estrada Jr. and wife Sylvia of Rossville, Reynaldo Estrada of McCoy, Rick Estrada, and Roy Estrada of San Antonio; sister Mary Morales of Floresville; brothers Juan Silva and wife Patsy, Louis Silva and wife Rita, and Nicanor Silva and wife Cruz, all of Floresville, and Clemente Silva and wife Linda of Fort Worth; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and a host of friends.

Visitation was held on Monday, Sept. 5, at 5 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home in Floresville.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville, with Monsignor Frank Kurzaj officiating.

Interment followed in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Floresville.

Serving as pallbearers were Rudy Estrada III, Samuel Rocha III, Reynaldo Lozano, Daniel Coronado, Rosendo Silva, and Chris Garza.

Serving as honorary pallbearers were Jacob Estrada and Roy Estrada Jr.
