1941-2016

Donald William Deaton was born in Horse Cave, Ky., on Dec. 20, 1941, to Benjamin Franklin and Mollie Miller Deaton and passed from this life, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016, in Floresville, Texas.

He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years, and worked 40 years for H.B. Zachry as a supervisor in the data entry department. He was known for his wonderful vegetables that he grew for the local market and for gifts to his neighbors. Don was a very strong and good man. He will be missed forever, but is in heaven now with many loved ones, said his family.

He is survived by the love of his life for 54 years, Holly Wilson Deaton; daughter Dayna R. Deaton; son Don W. Deaton Jr. (Gracie); granddaughters Amber Denea, Auburn Grace, Ariel Victoria, and Maddison Miley; and brothers Wayne Deaton and Frank Deaton (Joyce).

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 14, from 5-8 p.m. in the Sunset Funeral Home in San Antonio.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday at noon in the funeral home chapel.

Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park in San Antonio.
