(For you non-military it's 7am, September 17, 2016)

What a beautiful morning to be sitting out back listening to the morning! Sitting in my rocking chair, drinking coffee as squadrons of humming birds are circling overhead like planes waiting to land on an aircraft carrier for the 6 feeders. The missus L-O-V-E-S to see them, through the windows of her air conditioned home as I (me, myself and I) climb the ladder to make sure they're all refilled!

Three days ago an uninvited guest arrived. The missus DEMANDED we give it water, food and a little bed. At first, my common sense spoke telling me this was a bad idea. I refused! Yet, after so many years under her cat loving influence, I relinquished. Of course, y'all know that saying, "A happy wife, a happy life"! She's sleeping happily...

So, this morning I've (me, myself and I) fed & watered the dirty, long nailed, friendly, starved for affection stray cat who has adopted me that now jumps easily onto my lap demanding my complete attention. Of course, this cat's presence has the attention of our house bound cats who this morning knocked off a security alarm sensor on a window, setting off the alarm that yanked the missus awake & made me jump up into this day armed with a 45!!

(Anybody else seeing a parallel to current USA policies of social programs for refugees & illegal immigrants?)

We enjoyed an "invasion" of the cute hummers over the weekend ... wonder if these are the little ones migrating back to wherever they go for the winter??? I remember this happening last year, and it's so fun to watch... More ›
