Ernestina M. Alejandro passed away on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016, in the Bluebonnet Nursing Home in Karnes City, Texas. Ernestina was born on Aug. 14, 1932, in Karnes City to Concepcion Garcia and David Morin Sr.

She was married to the love of her life, Eleazar Alejandro Sr. from Sept. 18, 1955, until his death on Aug. 5, 2012. She was a member of the St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Karnes City. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved her family dearly.

Ernestina is survived by her son, Eleazar Alejandro Jr. and wife Stella Gonzales-Alejandro of Fort Worth; daughter Thelma Hidalgo and husband Robert of Karnes City; two sisters, Anita Gonzales and Rita Garcia, both of Sinton; four grandchildren, Adam Ocanas, Vanessa Ocanas, Tabitha Hidalgo, and Hillary Hidalgo, all of Karnes City; and five great-grandchildren, Jayla Cortez, Jesse Cortez III, Adain Ocanas, Devion Hidalgo, and Landyn Morgan.

Visitation was held on Friday, Sept. 16, from 1-9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. in the Rhodes Funeral Home in Karnes City.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Karnes City.

Interment followed in the Karnes City Latin Cemetery in Karnes City.

Serving as pallbearers were Adam Ocanas, Jessie Cortez Jr., David Alcantar, Hunter Morgan, David Ramos, and Rene Gutierrez.
