The National Weather Service Austin-San Antonio has issued a flood warning until Thursday, Sept. 29, at 6:24 a.m. for the San Antonio River near Floresville.

Minor flooding is occurring. Flood stage is 27 feet, and as of Wednesday, the level was measured at 31.6 feet.

The river is expected to fall back below flood stage by Wednesday evening.

Secondary roads near the flood plain may become flooded and impassable. Extensive flooding occurs in the lowest portions of Floresville River Park.

All persons with interests along the river should monitor the latest forecasts, and be prepared to take necessary precautions to protect life and property. River stage forecasts are based on observed rainfall along with predicted rain for the next 12 hours.

Do not drive automobiles through flooded areas. Remember, 18 inches of water or less can carry away most vehicles, including trucks. If you see floodwaters or come upon a flooded roadway, remember to turn around, don’t drown.
