My name is Tom Repino, a candidate for alderman, Place 4, on the Sandy Oaks City Council. I have lived for 26 years in the locale that has incorporated in the recent past to become the city of Sandy Oaks. I hope to add to that able council my experience gained in various positions of responsibility and leadership while serving 30 years in the United States Army and, since my retirement from the Army, employed for the last 26 years as a manager and executive at Connally Memorial Medical Center.

As with all new political entities, our city has many challenges with an electorate with a myriad of views on what those challenges are and priorities for their pursuit. Fortunately, the current council has been populated with intelligent and dedicated members working hard to make the proper choices. Should I be elected, and if not then as a volunteer, I will work hard with the council members to bring about logical and economically sound answers to our current and future challenges: Moving Sandy Oaks from an emerging community to one that welcomes families, offers safe and pleasant neighborhoods and multipurpose parks, and welcomes business for the convenience of the citizens.

The Wilson County News will provide a Candidates Forum in the print edition Oct. 26. In an effort to provide voters with information earlier, the Wilson County News is publishing candidate information as it is received.
