I am privileged to be a part of the historic beginning of a new city in the great state of Texas. Having been elected to the first city council as an alderman in 2014, I helped build the foundation for the protection of citizens and growth for our community. In November 2015, I ran unopposed for the vacant mayor position and have worked toward establishing needed services such as the city marshal, municipal court, and animal control.

With the recent budget approved for this fiscal year, there will be steady progress toward addressing the needs and concerns of the community at large. The top three issues from inception of the city have been police, fire, and animal control. Other concerns such as additional streetlights, code enforcement, Internet access, and public transportation are issues I will address while in office. There will also be a master plan completed this year, and The Shops of Sandy Oaks will bring both revenue to the city and jobs for the area. As the author/publisher of the quarterly newsletter, residents will continue to be kept informed of the happenings in our city.

I look forward to another term leading Sandy Oaks as your mayor.

The Wilson County News will provide a Candidates Forum in the print edition Oct. 26. In an effort to provide voters with information earlier, the Wilson County News is publishing candidate information as it is received.
