I am offering my experience in management as well as my years with council to the mayor’s office.

Our city is currently insolvent, which means that we cannot pay our debts. It is vital that Floresville elects a mayor and council who put Floresville “first.” We cannot continue to refinance loans while our debt continues to grow. Something needs to change. Together, we can be that change.

This change means we should focus on the safety of our town by strengthening our police force. This change means we should work on improving our infrastructure, including drainage, streets, and water and sewer repairs. These improvements will entice new families and new businesses to Floresville.

I have lived here since 1979 and am married to Frankie Dippel, a lifelong resident of Floresville. I was a member of the Floresville City Council from 2000 until May of 2006. I am a member of First Baptist Church of Floresville.

My father, Al Gonzalez, started Floresville’s first and only radio station, KWCB, in 1977. I worked with him at KWCB from 1977 through 2006.

Let’s take pride in what happens in Floresville and put “Floresville First.”

Vote Cissy Gonzalez-Dippel for Mayor of Floresville.

The Wilson County News will provide a Candidates Forum in the print edition Oct. 26. In an effort to provide voters with information earlier, the Wilson County News is publishing candidate information as it is received.
