Be skeptical of ads that say you can make lots of money working from the comfort of your home. If this were true, wouldn’t we all be working at home?

San Antonio has been my home since 1989. I am a proud mother of three beautiful young ladies: Lily, a 2016 grad of East Central High School attending St. Philip’s College; Samantha, an ECHS freshman; and Alaina, a Legacy Middle School sixth-grader. I graduated from Edison High School in 1993, and earned my degree at UTSA in 2007, and my MPA from Grand Canyon University. I worked with the city of San Antonio for 17 years; I’m currently a staff accountant with Elbit Aerospace Systems of America.

I have proudly and humbly served on the ECISD School Board for eight years. I feel that I have served effectively; it gives me a great sense of pride that somehow I have made a difference. Not only have I a passion for ensuring our students succeed; I want to be that person who makes a change for the betterment of our community.

As a board and team of eight, we have served effectively these past eight years. What we’ve accomplished is astonishing. We’ve passed two bond issues totaling over $130 million and had superior financial ratings each year. We have protected your money. I truly feel that I’m right where I belong.

The Wilson County News will provide a Candidates Forum in the print edition Oct. 26. In an effort to provide voters with information earlier, the Wilson County News is publishing candidate information as it is received.
