For those of you who are still swimming in the tabloid toilet that the campaigns and press have been generating, perhaps it is time to face reality. The real issues and real crimes are not being discussed by the news media. Why? Because the more voters are distracted from the real issues of this election, the better it is for the party in power.

That would be the Democrats. The party that gave us eight years of bad policy and bad decisions, whether they were planned or they were by incredible incompetence.

Focus, please on the difference in the two parties: Lower taxes and fiscal responsibility, Republicans are for it, Democrats against it. School choice, religious freedom, a strong military, border security, traditional families, Republicans are for them, Democrats are against. Domestic Oil and Gas Exploration, energy independence from the Middle East, Gun and hunting rights, Republicans are for them, Democrats are against.

The sanctity of the unborn and the protection of the elderly, Republicans are for them, Democrats are against. Stopping the spread of Radical Islamic Terrorism, Republicans are for it, Democrats can’t even name it. But even with all these differences, the biggest reason to get out of the tabloid toilet of thought is that we need to focus on the future of our country.

We can survive four years of a bad president...most of the time. But this go round (as we say in rodeo lingo) the Supreme Court could be facing four justices that will be selected by the next Commander in Chief. Since Supreme Court justices are appointed and stay in the position many times up to thirty years, bad choices could result in losing many of our constitutional rights for generations to come.

You may not be worried if you are over 80 years old but I can assure you, the young voters will suffer long into the future. And if you don’t care what happens to your children and grandchildren because you only own a dog, there are court cases right now waiting to be settled that will affect you as well. A bench that seats seven liberal justices and only two constitutional justices would change our country in ways Texans would find intolerable. And by the way, if you moved to Texas from California to escape the oppressive taxation, over regulation, and bizarre political policies...just wait. Issues affecting our freedoms will be just as bad here if the constitution is ignored and legislation comes from the judicial bench.

Truly the distraction is difficult to ignore, especially if you like that sort of gossip and speculation. But, to quote St. Paul, it is better to focus on “whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure” and “admirable”. Our future in our worldly home is at stake, so focus on what is important and vote.

New Guy II. Of course he wasn't in Ephesis went he wrote the letter. Why would he have written the letter if he was there? It was written to the Saints in Ephesis ... the faithful in Christ Jesus!

Someone needs to study the bible, Paul was a prisoner in Rome when he penned Ephesians, not Ephesis.

New Guy II. Ephesians 6:20 "for which I am ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should". Chains is 'figurative' speech. He's merely saying he is chained to the gospel of Christ.... More ›

Wow, someone needs to read the bible, Paul did not resist. Rather than being housed as a common criminal, the apostle was permitted to live in his own rented dwelling, though bound with a chain, and in the company of a guard... More ›

New Guy II. What you stated is true in a secular sense. However, the authories will be held responsible for demanding or making laws that go against the spiritual dictates of God the Father. Look at Paul as an example. Why... More ›

If the "young" voters are too damn stupidly ignorant to understand the future they won't have by voting Democrat then shame on them. I'm old enough to know voting Democrat will not have much time to affect me,... More ›

Well written article but the problem is there is not a Republican choice this election. The top member's of our party as well as every major conservative paper have not endorsed the man on the ballot next to the R that at one... More ›

St. Paul? Bible says "...whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment." So start respecting the President....
