Offer condolences


Fabian Harry Felux, a longtime resident of Elmendorf, Texas, entered eternal rest Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016, at 11:37 a.m. in the Floresville Residence and Rehabilitation Center in Floresville, at the age of 84 years, 7 months, and 15 days. Fabian was born Feb. 26, 1932, in Cestohowa, the son of Vincent and Helen Gawlik Felux.

He worked for many years as a brick yard foreman, before retiring, and proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Army. Fabian married Dorothy Kreitz on May 10, 1958, in St. Anthony Catholic Church in Elmendorf, where he was a lifelong member.

Fabian was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Jesse Felux and Roman Felux; and his sister, Christine Hrna.

He is survived by his loving wife of more than 58 years, Dorothy Felux of Elmendorf; his sons, Harry Felux and wife Sharon of Floresville and Greg Felux and wife Diana of San Antonio; his grandchildren, Justin Felux and wife Veronica, Steven Felux and wife Michelle, Derrick Felux and wife Samantha, Cody Felux, Tyler Felux, and Wendy Pawlik; his great-grandchildren, Brody Pawlik and Emily Felux; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, Oct. 13, at 5 p.m. with a recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. in the Vinyard Funeral Home in Floresville.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony Catholic Church in Elmendorf, officiated by the Rev. Andrew Kasara.

Interment followed in St. Anthony Cemetery in Elmendorf.

Serving as pallbearers were Fabians’s grandsons, Steven Felux, Derrick Felux, Cody Felux, Tyler Felux, and Justin Felux; and Fabian’s nephew, Freddie Menger.
